Electronics Recycling - Chicago North Chapter: Amigos de las Americanas

The Chicago North Chapter of Amigos de la Americas is hosting an electronics recycling drive to raise funds to send high school students to Latin America to do service work.  Help us raise funds and de-clutter your home or business at the same time!

Accepted items include: Laptops, gmae systems, copiers, phones, controllers, hard drives, non-gas powered tools, desktops, VCR's, DVD Players, typewriters, cell phones, keyboards, floppy drives, speakers, monitors, printers, fax machines, cameras, mice, DVD optical drives, network equiptment, unbroken TV's, scanners, calculators, pagers, cords/cables/chargers, vacuums, and projectors.

American Cancer Society - Walk & Roll Chicago

Walk & Roll began in Chicago 44 years ago, and is the Ameican Cancer Society's oldest event in Illinois.  Participants choose from a 5k walk, 10k skate, or 15k bike ride along Chicago's Lakefront.  Spend the day on the beautiful Soldier Field Green and along Lake Michigan with your family and friends to raise awareness and funds to support the lifesaving services of the American Cancer Society.  Walk & Roll brings entire communities together to end all cancers.

Participate individually or form a team with co-workers, friends and family members.  In 2013, over 3,000 people joined us at Soldier Field to raise over $700,000 and enjoyed a day of entertainment, picnics, and fun.

Food Drive: To benefit the Schaumburg Food Pantry & Free Car Clinic 

The Schaumburg Township Food Pantry has been helping families through difficult times for 37 years.  In recent years usage has grown significantly and now serves on average 500 families or 1,500 individuals monthly.

Needed items: Canned and dry goods, canned meats & chicken, chili, beef stew, SPAM, chunky soup, Hamburger Helper, pasta, peanut butter, jelly, spaghetti sauce, canned fruit, juice, cereals, hot cereal.

Also: Personal grooming and hygiene products, paper products, laundry detergent & diapers.

Earth Day Celebration - Emily Oaks Nature Center
